Chris Hodges Biography

Chris Hodges is an American evangelist and the founder and senior pastor of the Church of the Highlands. He entered the ministry in 1984 as a youth pastor at Bethany World Prayer Center outside Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

After marrying the former Tammy Hornsby in 1986, the duo relocated to Colorado Springs where he served as a youth pastor and senior associate pastor for the New Life Church.

He later returned to the Bethany World Prayer Center in 1994 as an associate pastor and hosted a daily television program called “Lifeline”.

In 2000, Hodges moved to Birmingham with the main purpose of founding a new church.

He mobilized the Association of Related Churches, a non-profit involved in church developments, and began recruiting leaders for the new Church of the Highlands. The church’s first service was held in February 2001 at Mountain Brook High School’s auditorium.

The church became one of the fastest-growing churches in the countr
