U.S. Rep. Nita Lowey, D-Harrison, made history — again — earlier this month by becoming the first woman whose portrait joined those of a gallery of men on a wall in the House Appropriations Committee Room.
Her gold-framed portrait, painted by artist Jon R.
Friedman and unveiled on Dec. 7, was quintessential Lowey.
